Felix Ching Ching Ho

Felix is a Hong Kong-born Melbourne-based theatre director, performer and cultural mediator. She has directed plays and musicals in Cantonese and Mandarin with the Chinese theatre groups at the University of Melbourne (2009-2011); Glyn Roberts’ The Horror Face (MKA 2011); Cabaret “Viet Kieu” (co-created with Diana Nguyen/Melbourne Fringe 2013). As an assistant director she has worked on “Transmute: a Butoh Cabaret” (Union House Theatre, Dir. Yumi Umiumare,Tom Gutteridge 2011); “Happy Ending” (Melbourne Theatre Company, Dir. Susie Dee 2012); “Cho Cho” (Melbourne Arts Centre/Playking Productions/National Theatre of China, Dir Peter Wilson, Lech Mackiewicz 2013); “The Good Person of Szechuan” (Malthouse Theatre/National Theatre of China, Dir. Meng Jing Hui 2014). 

Felix initiated TRANS COLLECTIVE in 2013 for which TRANS # Series has created and produced two hybrid multilingual performances for Mudfest and the Hong Kong People’s Fringe Festival. Trained in Viewpoint, Suzuki and Butoh, Felix has performed in “Grave” (Dewey Dell/Next Wave 2012); “1938: An Opera” (Union House Theatre/Melbourne Fringe 2012) and “The Sovereign Wife” (Sisters Grimm/MTC NEON 2013). In 2014, she has worked with composers Annie Hui-Hsin Hsieh and Ashlee Clapp on site-specific performance as part of The 6th Melaka Art and Performance Festival and Mapping Melbourne. Felix is currently making a performance "7412 Kilometres of Relations” for Big West Festival. Felix was a part of the Women Director’s Program at MTC for 2015.
